Orient paper is one of India's pivotal players in the paper industry. Its manufacturing plant is at Amlai Paper Mills, District Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. The second plant of the eco-friendly manufacturing company is at Brajrajnagar, Jharsuguda, Orissa, India.
The company aims to provide excellence, sustainability and timely delivery with every product it manufactures. Orient Papers has always looked up to exports as their priority area. Their export network consists of hundreds of traders equally divided all over India, Africa, Middle East, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal to shape their customers' aspirations. The company is also listed on the Bombay and National Stock Exchange list.

In 1978, the company name was altered from Orient Paper Mills Ltd. to the present name ORIENT PAPER AND INDUSTRIES LTD.

Ltd., Opi Export, Ltd. and Orient Dealers & Traders Ltd.

1978- A pulp and paper plant was commissioned in February.
The company has recently set up state-of-the-art facilities to manufacture Soft Tissue Paper of premium quality.
In 1992 the first stage of oxygen bleaching was commissioned to enhance brighteners of paper offerings, followed by the second stage of chlorine dioxide bleaching in the following year.
1992- An Memorandum of understanding (MoU) had been signed between orient paper and industries ltd., and the State Industrial & Investment Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. to set up an 80,000 TPA bagasse based unit.
In January 2021, the Odisha State government initiated a process to bring back the inoperative Orient Paper Mill at Brajrajnagar. The Orient mill at brajrajnagar was shut down in 1999 owing to a vital overhaul of the plant and equipment.
In 2015, they received a quality certification ISO(9001) and ISO (14001) followed by another quality certification OHSAS(18001) in 2007.
Orient Paper grabbed the trophy for the environment award for the year 2003.
The paper mills have received the ECO mark license from the Government of India. It is also certified for FSC-COC (Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody).
The company was accoladed with the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award for 2006 by the World Environment Foundation for eco-responsive services.
