Welspun Corp (WCL) was set up in 1995 as Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren. Today, the company is known as one of the largest manufacturers of Large Diameter Line Pipe companies in the world with a capacity of nearly 2.0mn MTPA. The Financial Times, UK rated WCL as the second Largest Large Diameter Pipe Company in the world when its capacity stood at 1.0mn MTPA in 2008. Their manufacturing plants are located in Anjar and Dahej in Gujarat and Arkansas in the US. Its Gujarat plant has capacity to manufacture 1.5 million tonnes of plate and coil with strengths of 1,20,000 PSI. It has the capability to manufacture specialized products according to requirement of industries like shipping, heavy construction, bridges, boiler plates, wind blades, etc. Its manufacturing facility located in US has capacity to manufacture 300,000 net tonnes of tubular steel pipes required by oil and gas industry.

In the Gulf of Mexico, WCL is known as the company which supplied pipes to the deepest pipeline project (Independence Trail project). In the United States and Canada, the Company has supplied the longest pipeline (Keystone Project from Canada to U.S.). In Peru, WCL has to its credit of supplying to the highest pipeline (Peru LNG) and in the Persian Gulf WCL supplied pipes for the heaviest pipeline (IGAT IV).

WCL currently offers a one stop solution in line pipes with a capacity to manufacture Longitudinal (LSAW), Spiral (HSAW) and HFERW / HFI (ERW) pipes. The company additionally offers coating, bending and double jointing facilities, thereby offering a 360 degree pipe solution to its customers.
Its client list includes companies like Kinder Morgan, Texas Gas, British Petroleum, Hunt Oil, Saudi Aramco, Elpaso, Exxon Mobil, Qatar Petro DOW and Gazprom, to name a few.
