Sinclairs Hotels Ltd. was originally incorporated in the name of Sinclairs Hotels Private Limited on December 2, 1971 with the Registrar of Companies, West Bengal. The name of the company was changed to Sinclairs Hotels and Transportation Private Limited on April 5, 1978. The company was subsequently converted into a public limited company and received a fresh certificate of incorporation on November 30, 1981. Subsequently the name of the company was changed to Sinclairs Hotels Limited on October 5, 2005.
The company is promoted by Dr. Niren Chand Suchanti, Navin Chand Suchanti, Sujata Suchanti, Pramina Suchanti, Rohan Suchanti, Pressman Realty Limited (formerly Pressman Estates & InvestmentsLimited), Pressman Properties Limited and Prima Communications Limited(collectively the “Promoters”).
The company presently operates in the hospitality sector, it owns and manages chain of hotels in India under the brand “Sinclairs”. At present the company operates five hotels namely Hotel Sinclairs Siliguri located at Siliguri, Hotel Sinclairs Darjeeling located at Darjeeling, Sinclairs Retreat Dooars (Chalsa) located at Dooars (Chalsa), Hotel Sinclairs Ooty located at Ooty and Hotel Sinclairs Bay View, Port Blair located at Port Blair. Altogether the company offers 279 rooms, 17 suites, and 2 villas and operates 10 food and beverage outlets and 15 banquet facilities as part of the five hotels.

Hotel Sinclairs Siliguri-Hotel Sinclairs Siliguri has 41 beautifully appointed air-conditioned rooms and 5 suites, with satellite TV channels, attached baths with hot-and-cold running water, telephones and room service.
Hotel Sinclairs Darjeeling-Hotel Sinclairs Darjeeling has 46 beautifully-appointed rooms and suites, with satellite TV channels, telephones and attached baths with hot and cold water. The rooms have wooden floors and ceilings ideal for living in the hills. The wooden interiors give it an ambience of a traditional country home.
Sinclairs Retreat Dooars-Spread over 20 acres of greenery, Sinclairs Retreat Dooars offers 66 well appointed cottage-style air-conditioned rooms and 3 suites, equipped with modern conveniences and amenities.
Hotel Sinclairs Bay View-There are two hotel blocks – the superior block comprises of 18 superior rooms/suites, six of them with attic. The second residential block comprises of 28 rooms, with Satellite TV channels, attached bath hot/cold water, telephones and room service. Since majority of rooms are sea facing one can gaze upon a breathtaking expanse of Aquamarine Ocean, whose waves break almost right beneath you, with only a lovely garden strip in between.
Hotel Sinclairs Ooty-Hotel Sinclairs Ooty has 88 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, wall-to-wall carpeting, satellite TV, direct-dial telephones, attached bath with hot and cold running water and room service. It also enjoys the distinction of being Ooty's only centrally heated hotel.
