Incorporated in 1947, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd is the main brand in India's customer electricals area with a wide portfolio, which includes lighting, fans, siphons, and domestic appliances. The organization dates its beginning back to when Mr. L K Thapar, a famous Indian industrialist, took over Crompton Parkinson Works Ltd and Greaves Cotton and Crompton Parkinson Ltd.
In 2015, Crompton Greaves Ltd. started a demerger to isolate its shopper products business from the power and modern fragments which made Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited.
The company is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange lists.
Col. R. E. B. Crompton established R.E.B. Crompton and Company in 1878. The organization was merged with F.A. Parkinson in 1927 to shape Crompton Parkinson Ltd.
The organization was consolidated in 1937 as Crompton Parkinson Works Private Ltd. In 1947, it was procured by Thapar Group. The organization went public in 1960 and after six years changed its name to Crompton Greaves Limited. In mid of 2014, Crompton Greaves Limited declared its intention to demerge the organization to isolate its buyer merchandise business from the power and industrial systems segment.
